• Bulletproof Coffee

I am sure you  have heard the latest craze about Bulletproof Coffee, sometimes referred to as butter coffee. So what makes this so special? After all, putting butter in your coffee seems like it would not be healthy.

Let’s examine this a little closer.

Let’s start out with the actual coffee bean. Several studies on coffees on the market found that over 50% are contaminated with mold, also known as mycotoxins. These contaminants can interfere with metal focus and performance. Bulletproof coffee beans go through a special roasting process that reduces the amount of these mycotoxins, so you will feel increased energy and focus by using this coffee. For people who feel jittery from drinking regular coffee, switching over to Bulletproof Coffee delivers a more even release of energy.

Bulletproof Coffee’s protocol is to add grass fed butter to the mix. The reason for adding grass fed butter, is that this version of butter has a different nutritional profile that just your run of the mill butter , or even organic butter for that matter. It is higher in in Omega 3 fatty acids as well as a host of other vitamins. It also contains butyrate, which is short chain fatty acid that helps reduce inflammation in the body.

The last ingredient calls for Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT’s). These MCT’s bypass the liver and are rapidly used by your body for quick energy and give you great focus. It is a more concentrated form of energy than just plain coconut oil (which contains more Long Chain Triglycerides or LCT’s). It is the length of the triglyceride that dictates how rapidly the body can convert it to energy.

So, when all of these ingredients are blended together it has profound effects on energy, focus and metabolism!
